All About Mrs. Workinger

I have a BS in Human Services with minors in Psychology and Sociology from Purdue University at IPFW.  I was distinguished with the honor of being a member of Tau Upsilon Alpha (honor society for Human Service majors) and Psi Chi (honor society for work in psychology).  I have many years of experience working with children in school settings.

  *  Preschool teacher for children with behavioral and emotional disabilities
  *  Worked with victims of child abuse and neglect with SCAN
  *  Worked with Autistic Children doing ABA therapy at Adaptive ABA
  *  Worked with children with behavioral and emotional disablities through Park Center
  *  Behavioral assistant and provided guidance lessons to all students at Northwest Elementary
  *  Worked with high school students in Adams County with VOICE, Anti-tobacco coalition, and          SAAC (Substance Abuse Awareness Council)

I've been a waitress at The Galley in Decatur for ten years now.  I enjoy volunteering in my community and church.  I play table-top shuffle board in a women's league through my church.  I grew up and live in Adams County.  I enjoy reading, watching movies, riding our motor cycle, spending time with my husband, family and my dog, Hazel.

Philosophy:
Find a passion in life and work hard to achieve your goal.  I knew in high school that I wanted to be a guidance counselor so I followed my passion, worked hard in school, got involved in my community, volunteered and I achieved my goal.  There are many things you need to achieve success (social skills, life skills, academic skills, hard work, and determination) and even if you are lacking in one area you can make up for it in other areas.
