SENIORS!!!  SENIOR Class Picture will be on the Football Field at 12:21 pm on May 16th!

Hello Class of 2019,

This is just a friendly reminder to BUY A YEARBOOK!  Time is running out and only so many will be ordered. Don't be left out! Bring $50 to Mrs. Brehm in room 124 before April 30!

LUNCH:

Week 3 Lunch Menu

Monday:  Cheeseburger or Raider rib sandwich, applesauce, French fries, fresh broccoli

Tuesday:  Turkey and noodles, or turkey slice, mixed fruit, mashed potatoes, cherry tomatoes, roll

Wednesday:  Breaded chicken or hot/spicy sandwich, pears, baked beans cucumbers

Thursday:  Pancakes and sausage or cheese omelet, apple, carrots, hash browns

Friday:  Chicken nuggets or sriracha chicken nuggets, peaches, peas, red peppers

  • PROM TICKETS Go On sale April 22nd - 26th during LUNCH:  Juniors and Seniors get your Prom Tickets at Lunch the week of April 22nd.  Southern Wells SENIORS are FREE - but you must get a ticket to attend.  JUNIORS - did you sell 10 items during magazine sales?  Then you are free also, but you must have a ticket!  Guests and Juniors who did not sell 10 items must pay $25 for a ticket.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PROM TICKETS:  Bringing a Guest from another school?  The form for your guest must be filled out and presented at the time you purchase their ticket.  Also, you must purchase that ticket before the 26!

  • Post Prom tickets are on sale ALL week during lunch.  Tickets are $10 each.  When you attend Post Prom you will get a t-shirt, $$, prizes not to mention you'll have TONS to do and eat.  

  • WANTED:  Juniors and Seniors to sell Pizza Hut cards for Post Prom.  The cards are $10 each and good until September.  If you are interested please see Mrs. Roush. Anyone interested in purchasing a card can see a Junior, Senior or Mrs. Roush.

  • I.C.E. and Intern (Work Based Learning) Students:  Turn in your application form!!

  • NEXT YEAR Yearbook students:  Get your application from turned in!

  • HS Student Council:  Applications for the 2019-2020 Student Council due the 19th.

  • Junior High Hawaiian Luau Dance!  Friday, April 26th. From 6 pm until 8 pmWednesday, May 8th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm is the the I.C.E. and Intern Banquet, in the High School Cafeteria.  Students must attend, family and employers are welcome!  Please invite them!

  • ALL Seniors.  Check your Google Classroom site OFTEN! The Class of 2019 Graduation Website is now available.  This is your Go-To source for ALL information about graduation up to and including Graduation Day on June 2nd.  It is updated regularly with any changes.  The site can also be accessed through the graduation information link at the Jr./Sr. High School page at swraiders.com. Please bookmark it and keep it handy!

MUSIC NOTES:

  • Music Boosters regularly scheduled meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.

  • Our next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30.

  • Spring dinner will be April 13, 2019.   Please be on the lookout for papers to be sent home soon.

GUIDANCE

  • Montpelier - Friends of Southern Wells Scholarship is now available.  Apply if you live in Blackford County or have some affiliation with the Montpelier High School Alumni - grandparent, other family member!  Apps are in the Guidance Office.

  • 2 Brand New Scholarships!  “Steps to Success” Scholarship and Vocational or Tech Scholarship from Indiana Extension Homemakers Association.  Scholarship application is in the HS Office.  5 $500 Scholarships will be awarded across the state.  Please pick up an application ASAP Due to them by may 1st.

  • ATHLETIC Booster Scholarship Applications now available!   Pick up and app and return to Mrs. Tucker in Room 111.  They are Due May 1st!

  • Psi Iota Xi Scholarship available

  • ISWAT

  • Bridget Schweikardt Memorial Scholarship

  • Mossburg Scholarship for Ag.

  • Senior Awards Wednesday, May 15th  Doors open @ 5:45 for Ice Cream Social.  Program begins @ 6:30.

  • Graduation Pathways Meeting Information is available on the website.



  • FAFSA Deadline!!!!!   April 15th 2019. Best Practice….. Create a FSA ID before beginning the FAFSA.

  • DOLLARS for SCHOLARS Collegiate Partners!  What is a Collegiate Partner? Collegiate Partners® are colleges, universities and other accredited post-secondary institutions that demonstrate their commitment to students by maximizing the benefit of scholarships awarded through local Dollars for Scholars organizations. Collegiate Partners agree to apply your scholarships first to reduce any unmet student need. Then, if the scholarship is greater than the unmet need, to reduce student loan debt and work-study obligations in the financial aid package. Some Collegiate Partners also go a step further and agree to match a portion of scholarships from Dollars for Scholars chapters and other Scholarship America programs.


What:  Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars is a needs- and performance-based program that provides students the opportunity to earn up to a four-year scholarship at an Indiana college or university.

Who & When:  Hoosier students who meet income criteria can enroll during their 7th- or 8th-grade year of middle school. Students commit to maintaining academic success, remaining drug and alcohol free, and completing college-preparation activities.

Come eat Wings and help out the Southern Wells Track Team!  Monday, April 15th, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.  With coupon, SW Track will received %15 of all pre-tax food and soft drink sales!   YOU MUST have the coupon to help out.  So check Facebook or pick up a copy in the HS Office!
