Compatibility Matches!
The High School St. Council will be selling Computer Fun surveys during lunch Tuesday, February 12th - Friday, February 15th.  One report matches you with students from your grade only. An additional report matches you with students in multiple grades. $3.00 for one report, $5.00 for both!  Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

  • It's National FCCLA Week. FCCLA has two projects this week to celebrate. FCCLA will be selling carnations at lunches to be delivered during SWIM on Thursday. Carnations are $2.00 each. Send one to your crush or your friend, or whomever you wish!

  • FCCLA will also be collecting diapers for families in need in our community now through February 22. Diapers can be dropped off to Mrs. Franks or given to any FCCLA member.

  • FFA WEEK!!! February 18-22! Check your email and the attachment for activity details.

  • The JHSC will be selling candy valentines at lunch on February 11,12, and 13.  The candy with the message will be delivered during SWIM on Thursday, February 14.  Buy one for your friend, your crush, or your favorite teacher.

  • SENIORS and EARLY GRADS!  DFS Application instructions are in the Guidance Office


  • ELKS Scholarship Application also available!

  • FINANCIAL AID NIGHT - SWHS February 13th,  grades 9-12 (Fin Aid 101) at 4:30 and at 6:00 FAFSA Completion.  This will be very informative with outside experts and presenters.  Parents and students are welcome to attend.

  • CONGRATULATIONS Wrestlers.  Great job at Semi-state. Will Fiechter is now on to state!

  • 2019 Miss Warren Pageant forms are in the HS office.

  • JUNIOR PARENTS:  As a senior next year, 2019-2020, your child will have additional immunization requirements for the State of Indiana.  The exact requirements are on the High School website. Now is a good time to double check their current immunizations and get appointments scheduled.  Please contact Nurse Roush is you have any questions.

  • WINTER FORMAL!  The theme for this year’s winter formal will be the 1920’s so come as a flapper or come as you are, dress as a gangster or silent screen star; It’s going to be fun no matter the dress, just bring yourself and we’ll do the rest! Yearbook proudly presents this year’s winter formal “Frozen in Time” being held Saturday, February 23rd, 2019. Junior High will start at 6:00 p.m. ending at 8:00 p.m. and High School will start at 8:30 p.m. and go until 11:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale at lunch starting on Thursday, February 14th and they will be available through Friday, February 22nd. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. 

  • Junior High Summer League sign up - in the office.  Any boy interested playing on a Southern Wells JH Baseball Team, sign up in the HS office.  This is a developmental program for Southern Wells Baseball. Age is 13-15 by May 1st 2019.


  • Music Announcement:  Calling all Alumni band members!  On Friday, February 15, the Raider Force Band would like to invite former Southern Wells Band members to come play some of our standard tunes with us at the game.  Come help us promote lifelong enjoyment of music by coming alongside our younger musicians!  A welcome reception for alumni coming back to play will occur from 5-6:15 PM!

  • On Saturday, February 16th, the Music Boosters are again sponsoring BINGO. We will have an assortment of prizes including Essential Oils, Thirty-One & Tupperware.  Doors to the HS Cafetorium open at 8:30 am with games beginning at 9:00 AM.  Cost is $20.00 with additional bingo sheets available for $5.00 each.  Refreshments available for purchase including our Award winning Taco Salads!

  • It is that time of year again for officer election for the Southern Wells Music Boosters.  We are asking all those interested in either holding an office or seeing new representation to join us at our February 12th meeting.  If you cannot join us for the meeting but would like to let us know how you feel you may contact any current officer.

1.  Track practice begins TODAY 3:30-5:30.  Meet in the gym lobby

2.  Weights for any HS or MS athlete starts tonight at 5:30.  Brief meeting with Coach Paxson for all interested and/or parents at that time.

CHILI SUPPER!!  Boosters Chili Supper Fundraiser beginning at 5:00 at the home boys' basketball game against Blackford on February 15th. Freewill donation. We are trying to get as many items donated as possible. Hopefully, all of the coaches have been notified but here is the list of what we are asking for. Students may drop off items at the office between February 10th and the 13th.

FAFSA Deadline!!!!!  FAFSA filing opened October 1, 2018.  In order to secure state Aid eligibility for the 2019-2020 academic year, students MUST submit the FAFSA by the state deadline of April 15th 2019.  Best Practice….. Create a FSA ID before beginning the FAFSA.

myStudentAid is now an app for your phone!  The download is free as is the FAFSA is free to file.  NOTE: If at any time while filing a FAFSA you are asked to pay something - STOP - it is not legitimate.  Scammers are out there so beware!

What:  Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars is a needs- and performance-based program that provides students the opportunity to earn up to a four-year scholarship at an Indiana college or university.

Who & When:  Hoosier students who meet income criteria can enroll during their 7th- or 8th-grade year of middle school. Students commit to maintaining academic success, remaining drug and alcohol free, and completing college-preparation activities.
