Week 3 Lunch Menu

CANDY CANE-o-GRAMS!

The Jr. High Student Council is selling Candy Cane-o-Grams at lunch ALL WEEK!  Bring your quarters!! For only 50 cents you may buy your favorite flavor, write a message, and send to your friends, classmates, or become a secret admirer.  Candy Cane-o-Grams will be delivered on Wednesdays and Fridays during Explorer.


Thursday:  Pancakes and sausage or cheese omelet, apple, carrots, hash browns

Friday:  Chicken nuggets or sriracha chicken nuggets, peaches, peas, red peppers

  • Next week is Riley Week!  We will have dress-up days, door decorating and other fun activities to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital.  On Friday, December 14th we will end the week with the JV&V Boys game at Bluffton and will combine efforts to raise more money for Riley.   Shirts available to purchase for $15 to wear that night.  Let the office know if your interested in purchasing a shirt.

  • Riley Night will be Friday, December 14th at Bluffton High School.  This will be an annual event with fun activities to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital.  The HS St. Council would like to fill the stands with blue shirts!! Please provide Monica with your size and $15.00 by Monday at 3:00.

  • COSTA RICA: A Touch of the Tropics:  There will be an informational meeting about going to Costa Rica in the summer of 2020 on TONIGHT! Thursday, December 6 in Room 106 (Mrs. Brewster's room). This tour is open to current 7-12 grade students and family members. If you RSVP with Mrs. Brewster or online, you will be entered into a raffle for $100 off the tour. http://rsvp.eftours.com/6amzuc3

  • CALIFORNIA HERE I COME!  Interested in going to California for a week?  Visiting Yosemite National Park? Touring San Francisco?  Embarking on Marine Ecosystems?  A packet envelope has been delivered to all 7th through 11th graders with information on such a trip to the West Coast during the summer of 2020.  For details and video, visit: https://worldstrides.com/itineraries/west-coast-science-and-technology/   Early registration yields a $100 discount. In addition, the first 4 to sign-up will receive an additional $250 off.  Not to mention, there is also an online college credit opportunity via the University of Cal San Diego.  The trip is all inclusive and yes, caparones are welcome too. There will be a Parent/Student meeting about the trip: 12/11 (TUE) @ 6pm in HS room 118 (Note: Not 12/6 as indicated in the recent packet envelope sent out 11/26).  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Butler:  dbutler@swraiders.com

  • Once again Southern Wells softball is selling gift cards through the website: shop.shopwithscrip.com  A portion of every gift card sold goes directly to the softball program. In order to purchase a gift card, families need to enroll in the Southern Wells Jr. /Sr. HS group using the following enrollment code: CB27D5BE4L613. Orders will be submitted every Tuesday morning starting Nov. 27 with the final order being placed Monday, Dec. 17. This is to ensure delivery before Christmas Break. Orders will be submitted once payment is confirmed. Families may pay online using PrestoPay or by bringing a check to either the Elementary or High School office. Checks are to be made out to Southern Wells softball. The gift cards will be ready for pick up at the elementary or high school office the following Thursday.

  • ATTENTION SENIORS:

Please send Mrs. Brehm the senior picture you want put in the yearbook by Jan 31. The picture must be a headshot ONLY. NO pictures with your pet, your truck or anything else....just you! The best way to send the picture is in an email so it can be uploaded easily.


  • 2018-19 YEARBOOKS ARE FOR SALE FOR $45 AND CAN BE PURCHASED IN MRS. BREHM'S ROOM (124). AFTER CHRISTMAS THEY GO UP TO $50!


MUSIC NOTES:

  • CHRISTMAS SING!!  December 12th! Refreshments @ 6 and sing-a-long @ 6:30!!!

  • Music Boosters meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.  Next scheduled meeting will be January 8th @ 6:30.


ATHLETICS

  • Alumni basketball games are scheduled for Saturday, January 5th.  If you would like to play or have any friends or relatives who would like to play please have them contact Kyle Penrod kpenrod@swraiders.com

What:  Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars is a needs- and performance-based program that provides students the opportunity to earn up to a four-year scholarship at an Indiana college or university.

Who & When:  Hoosier students who meet income criteria can enroll during their 7th- or 8th-grade year of middle school. Students commit to maintaining academic success, remaining drug and alcohol free, and completing college-preparation activities.
