  • CONGRATULATIONS Crops Teams:  On Monday, the Crops Judging Teams competed at the Area Contest in Columbia City. The team of Mattthew McMillan, Katelyn McMillan, Frankie Wygant, & Grace Michael placed 10th. The team of Canyon Tucker, Roscoe Heath, Grace Meeks, & Hannah Duncan placed 13th. Congratulations to all team members.  Southern Wells teams are brand new to this competition and we are so proud of how well they are competing!

  •   This site has many different kinds of scholarships.  It is like a treasure hunt!!! Check it out.

  • 21st CENTURY SCHOLARS  PARENTS OF 7th and 8th grade STUDENTS:  21st Century Scholars - 7th and 8th may register

What:  Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars is a needs- and performance-based program that provides students the opportunity to earn up to a four-year scholarship at an Indiana college or university.

Who & When:  Hoosier students who meet income criteria can enroll during their 7th- or 8th-grade year of middle school. Students commit to maintaining academic success, remaining drug and alcohol free, and completing college-preparation activities.



  • POST PROM!  It's time again to start planning for Post Prom.  Post Prom is not school funded and is entirely planned and sponsored by parents and the community, SO volunteers, especially Junior and Senior parents are needed and WELCOMED!  This year Prom is May 9th and will be held in Bluffton.

Meetings are only once a month until closer to post prom.  If you missed the meeting and still want to be involved, please email Caryn Johnson at or send her a text at 260-417-2306 to be included on future emails regarding post prom.

Caryn would love to have Jr. and Sr. Parent email and phone contacts.  Lots of additional parent help will be needed the night of POST PROM. Please, at least send her your contact info if you are willing to join in on the fun in May!  

  • Need a new HOME built on your property next year? Construction Trades is accepting proposals for new home construction! Applications are available in the high school and central office. Project proposals are DUE December 19, 2019. 

  • Mark your calendar!!!!  Hope Church will be looking for 350 volunteers! Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. This February 7, 2020, Night to Shine celebrates its sixth anniversary! This past year, on one night, 655 churches from around the world came together to host Night to Shine for approximately 100,000 honored guests through the support of 200,000 volunteers!  Some of our own kids from Southern Wells have participated in this event.  

Now that the school year has started, why not start thinking about prom! Wells County Prom Dress Exchange 2020 dates are as follows:  Friday, March 6th, 2020 4 P.M. - 7 P.M. Saturday, March 7th, 2020 10 A.M.-12 P.M. Location: First United Methodist Church, 325 W. Washington St., Bluffton, IN 46714.  All dresses are $10 and proceeds from the sale will be given to The Wells County Foundation LiGHT committee. Prom/bridesmaid dresses may be donated all year long, and shoes, jewelry, purses and accessories are appreciated. Volunteers are always welcome!


All activities are free at the Wells County Public Library in Bluffton unless otherwise noted.  For more information go to or call 260 824 1612.  Or check out the fliers in the HS LMC.  WCPL Main Branch is located at 200 W Washington Street in Bluffton.  Some events require registration! Programming is made possible by the Wells County Foundation and Friends of the Library.
