Keeping Our Schools Safe

Today, as a part of the scheduled teacher inservice day, Friday, September 21, Southern Wells Community Schools teachers and staff participated in a safety training drill.  Thank you to our law enforcement and emergency management partners from the Wells County Sheriff’s Department, Portland Police Department, Montpelier Police Department, Bluffton Police Department, Blackford County Sheriff’s Department, Grant County Task Force, Wells County Emergency Management Services, and the Indiana State Police!  Thank you to Deputies Agler and Bradley from the Wells County Sheriff’s Department for organizing and conducting training today!

The school district tested safety protocols for an active shooter on campus.  The drill by law enforcement and emergency management provided opportunity to train and then reinforce what Southern Wells staff does to keep students safe.

Proud to be a Raider today!
