A little Kan Jam today in PE class with Mr. Yencer! Mr. Yencer does a great job giving his students modern, relevant, and engaging activities that foster coordination, skill, and movement!
Mrs. McMillan teaching reading fluency, comprehension and sequencing to 2nd graders through learning about very relevant topics (especially for 2nd graders) on how Dum Dum Lollipops are made in their factory! Did you know 12 million Dums Dums are manufactured per day!
Enjoyed Poetry Slam today, ran and organized by Mr. Gates! Awesome experience for students being up front performing their poems! Mr. Gates does a great job coming up with creative and engaging learning activities for SW JH English students!
A little pythagorean theorem fun in Algebra today with great instruction and guidance from Mrs. Meeks!
I enjoyed Ms. Oswalt's cross curriculum activity today about Super Bowl locations! It had data work, codes, and geography, with relevant, current information! I learned that the state of Florida has hosted the most Super Bowls with 17!
Enjoyed reading to students during National Read Aloud Day! I also got the privilege to listen to Jayne Schriver, former SW elementary teacher, read her children's book that she has authored called, "Not Walter!" Former SW teachers continuing their impact on learning!
Applications for SW Preschool for the 2024-2025 school year have begun! Space is filled for each session on a first come first serve basis. Registration will be taken until the classes are full. You can stop by the High School or Elementary Office to pick up an application.

SW Family,
We wanted to let you know that today Adams Ct. schools all received a bomb threat and evacuated their buildings. The police believe it is a SCAM call as 70 schools total received the same threat. SW has not received any threats. SW has taken extra precautions and had security and maintenance check all buses, surroundings outside, doors, etc. and nothing concerning or suspicious has been found thus we have continued with a normal school day. As always, if you ever see something suspicious or concerning, please let us know immediately. Thank you to the great work of our staff and law enforcement in attending to the situation!
